Join the OLA Special Libraries Committee for a free, behind-the-scenes tour of of George Brown College’s Waterfront Library Learning Commons on Thursday, December 1 at 6 p.m.

Where: George Brown College’s Waterfront Library Learning Commons, 51 Dockside Dr., Toronto
Cost: Free, but space is limited to 15 people!

About the campus and the library:

George Brown College Waterfront Campus is located in the East Bayfront community, overlooking the Toronto Harbour. The focal point of the campus is the Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences, one of the city’s most architecturally striking building at the Toronto Harbour.

The waterfront library strives to facilitate teaching and learning by providing state-of-art physical space, innovative resources and student-centred services.

Students enjoy bright physical space equipped with the latest technology, including study rooms, computer labs, open access computer zones, instruction lab, as well as informal learning spaces. The library provides both conventional resources, such as academic journals and specialized databases, and innovative resources, such as iPads loaded with various medical apps and physical anatomy models. All services are designed around students’ needs, including the integrated Reference Desk and Help Desk, Reference Clusters (customized reference programs) and nontraditional resources/services, such as walkstation treadmill desks, self-services printing and wireless charging stations.
